Calling all elves

Santa assures us the North Pole Post Office will be open over the next few months. In this year especially, he wants every child to know Santa is listening and will be responding to their letters. Our work with Santa will look different this year. There will be no blitz day or Wednesday morning gatherings to share the holiday spirit and help out with Santa’s mail. But, we will still be needed. Maybe even more than usual.

The current plan is that you will be asked to help Santa at home. You will have two options to pick up bundles – either at Head Office (from Santa’s on-site postal elves) or from your closest executive at a designated public location. Both options will happen at a pre-set day and time. You will be given a ‘stock’ bundle with your first pick up that will have a stock of extra replies, envelopes, etc. that will hopefully allow you to work unimpeded through subsequent bundles you receive. We’re still working out details with Santa and his Head Office elves but, at this time, we want to register elves who would be interested in helping out under these new circumstances. To recap – you would pick up bundles either at Head Office or at a local(ish) (for example… if you live in Barrhaven you’d pick up mail from VP Mary at the Home Depot parking lot on Thursday between noon and 1:00 p.m.). We’re aiming to have once-a-week pick-ups starting the week of November 23.

If you are able to help Santa (there’s a very special present that will be included in your first bundle!) please register with VP/Elf Christiane at vp-christiane@bytownchapter.com. Please let her know what your preferred pick-up day and time would be (no guarantees, but…), what area of the city you are located in and if you would be planning to pick up at Head Office or from an executive.

As always, Santa thanks you!
