Membership dues

A reminder that your 2018 membership fees ($15) are due, if you haven’t paid them already.

We know many people enjoy our activities without becoming a member. And while we are always happy to include you in activities, membership provides several key benefits:

  • Chapter events are offered to members first and at a reduced price. Only if an event doesn’t sell out do we then open up registration to non-members. And, non-members will pay a higher registration fee.
  • Your dues help the chapter to sponsor parts of event, keeping costs as low as possible. For instance, the fee to charter the bus was paid for by the club for several activities last year, it pays for door prizes and special treats at many events. This is why we offer spots to paid members first.
  • Members have access to exclusive offers for savings on home, auto and travel insurance from Johnson Insurance. We know our members enjoy a great deal of travel, and the discount on travel insurance offered by Johnson is significant. Plus, they provide sponsorship funds to the club that also help to finance our events. You must have your Heritage Club membership number to qualify for the discount.
  • Members enjoy a great saving on GoodLife Fitness Clubs Being physically fit tops many of our member’s activity lists and the discount gym membership can certainly help with that goal. You must have your Heritage Club membership number to qualify for the discount.
  • Other discounts are currently being negotiated by the By-Town executive team, stay tuned!
  • The chapter supports two charities annually (along with the Canada Post Community Foundation) based on member input. Only paid members can nominate a charity to receive support ($500) from the By-Town Heritage Club.
  • Finally, your paid membership counts toward the funds we receive from Canada Post to continue to club’s work. It also sends a strong message to Canada Post that retirees value the Heritage Club and want to see it continue. Membership provides a united voice, when combined with the Heritage Clubs across the country, when discussions regarding post-retirement benefits and pensions are being held at Canada Post.

If you enjoy chapter events, traveling with added peace of mind, being fit and want to ensure our collective voice is heard at Canada Post; along with spending time with long-time friends and former colleagues, please pay your dues. You can pay at any event or via email transfer. More information here.

The winner of the final ‘early bird’ draw was Monique Lanthier. Congratulations Monique and all our winners.
