Aboriginal Education Incentives Awards – thank you from Canada Post

The Human Rights and Employment Equity team would like to extend their gratitude to Karen Casselman, Penny Glover, Rosemary Jones (Penny’s sister), Bruce Fletcher, John MacKinnon, Peter Speak and Trish Edwards,  for taking part in the initial review process of this year’s Aboriginal Education Incentive Award essay submissions. Thanks to your efforts and dedication to the task at hand, the review was a wonderful success. On behalf of all award applicants, as well, thank you for your part in recognizing and applauding those who have overcome hardship in the pursuit of higher learning!

Sandy Sheremeta, Human Rights and Employment Equity Officer, Canada Post

—————-original message———————–

Are you interested in helping with the initial review process for Canada Post’s 2013 Aboriginal Education Incentives Awards with fellow By-Town members?

Every year, Canada Post celebrates the pursuit of learning among Aboriginal people by granting the Canada Post Aboriginal Education Incentive Awards. The awards applaud the efforts of Aboriginal people who have overcome adversity in order to return to school and further their education.

For 2013, we’ve received approximately 130 applications from which we’ll be selecting 24 of the best entries as this year’s winning submissions.

On October 8th, a group of volunteers will meet at Canada Post’s head office to read through the applicants’ essays and score them based on specific criteria.

If you’d like to help review the entries, please register as soon as possible with Canada Post’s Sandy Sheremeta at 613-734-3120 or sandy.sheremeta@canadapost.ca .

We hope you’ll join us for this rewarding experience. A few hours of your time would be greatly appreciated, and lunch will be served!
