Prescriptions by mail – Express Scripts Canada Pharmacy home-delivery service

What you need to know:  Canada Post and Great West Life recently communicated changes taking effect on July 16, 2013, to reimbursement of certain maintenance medication costs under Group Benefit Plan number 51391. This affects all (except Quebec residents) active Management Exempt employees and Executives and retired Management Exempt and Executive employees who retired on or after January 1, 2001.

As of July 16, 2013, medications that are to be taken on an ongoing basis, such as blood pressure pills, must be filled using the Express Scripts Canada Pharmacy home-delivery service to be eligible for reimbursement. (Prescriptions for short-term medications, such as antibiotics, will continue to be filled at your local pharmacy and reimbursed in the usual way.)
